When should I replace my denture?
Most dentists agree a denture should be replaced every 5-7 years.  Patients will find the fit of the denture changes over the years as their mouth changes.  Regular check ups are recommended.
What Do New Dentures Feel Like?
New dentures may feel a little odd or loose for a few weeks until the muscles of the cheeks and tongue  learn to keep them in place and you get comfortable inserting and removing them. Also, it is not unusual for minor irritation or soreness to occur and for saliva  flow to increase when you first start wearing dentures, but these problems will diminish as the mouth adjusts.

How often should I visit the dentist now that I have dentures?
Even if you have lost all or some of your natural teeth, you should still visit your dentist once a year.  The dentist will be able to evaluate the fit of your denture, offer suggestions for denture care and hygiene, and check for issues which may arise such as oral cancer.
What if I have an emergency?
Our dentist  are able to provide same day treatment for patients that are in pain and need EMERGENCY EXTRACTION SERVICES.  Please understand, your health conditions and any medications you may be taking will determine if extraction services can be provided.

How should I clean my dentures?
Daily care and cleaning of a new denture is very important to help maintain good dental health. For everyday cleaning, use a soft brush and a cleaning agent, such as soap and water, or products sold especially to clean dentures. Be sure to brush both the inside and outside of your denture. This will help eliminate harmful bacteria. We also suggest soaking your denture in water or a denture cleaning agent like Polident when you take them out at night.
We strongly recommend you hold your dentures over a sink filled with water when you are cleaning your denture. This will help to prevent breakage if the denture is accidentally dropped. You may also want to cushion the sink and counter with a soft cloth or towel.
